baths and washes
For hundreds of years baths of flowers and soothing herbs have been used to calm restless babies and mothers, to uplift mother and babies or simply to say I love and appreciate you ..." let me prepare a flower bath for you."
Baths
Those of us preparing the bath can receive as much enjoyment and relaxation as those who rest back in the water. Using the loose leaf tea of flowers and herbs invites us to slow down a little ,let the tea brew in a large teapot or jug. Use 1 Tablespoon of tea pour on boiling water, brew for longer than we would if we were drinking the tea. So the brew is nice and strong, then strain and add to bath water. Check temperature of bath water for babies and children. Rest back and enjoy. Mother and baby can share the bath or maybe you want to take some time to rest back and enjoy by yourself. Older children and fathers of course enjoy flower baths as much as mother and baby.
Footbaths;
The flower baths can be used as footbaths for older children , simply prepare in the same way and then add to bowl of water. Please check water temperature when offering to children. Maybe story time can be sometimes offered this way when the day has been experienced as busy or stressful or again maybe just to whisper "i love and appreciate you." When your little one sleeps peacefully maybe you would like to experience a gentle footbath of flower tea. I recommend them.
Washes
Sometimes during the experience of birthing our babies the perineum is bruised or becomes very sore. The wash is designed to soothe and heal this area of the body. Make as a pot of tea ,again the invitation is to slow down a little, to relax and be gentle with ourselves. When the tea is brewed , strain and add to a spray bottle to keep in the bathroom. Then each time you go to the loo simply spray a little over the uncomfortable area allow to dry naturally. Also you can soaked pads with the tea which can be very soothing.
